Great for salad greens and spicy, crunchy roots. Best sown in early spring and again in mid-summer for fall harvest.

26 days. Heirloom introduced in 1879, oblong in shape and deep pink at the top lightening to white at the bottom. Crisp and mildly spicy when young, it may become pithy if left in the ground too long.
